![]() The weather was wonderful on Saturday with great visibility, flat waters which could be compared to a duck pond and even the rain managed to stay away with moments of Sun ! A fantastic turnout of several hundred spectators, Scarborough was very accommodating and a delight to visit. All teams were on great form for the 1st weekends Racing with a number of new teams including of course World of PowerBoats own race team, Sports Boat & Rib also now have their own race team as do Rib International although weren't able to make it to Scarborough - anyone would think they wanted a Media challenge! VoomVoom once again have a very impressive Team which did incredibly well leading in some races so much so making it very hard for others to catch up. There is of course the infamous 'Self Trade - All Girls Team' piloted by the well know Marine Celebrity Lynsay and Co-Pilot Nicola, watch out they have an impressive pit support team of engineers which Lewis Hamilton would be jealous of, the boat was running extremely well and with the combined weight of both of them equivalent to an average man were perfectly suited to the calm waters over the weekend . Many thanks to Steel Developments Ltd who have always been a large part of Thundercats and having historically always provided many 'winning propellers' the legendary Dave Harwood was certainly a very popular man consistently bombarded with questions and advice. With now 2 classes - the P750 Standard Class with Rev-limiters and 'Out of the Box' engines as well as the UIM approved P750 enabling teams to prepare the engine to the UIM homologation paper the series is even more exciting adding another dimension and accommodating the pro's. This once again ensures all racers with different levels of ability can take part and to share the excitement of possibly one of the most exciting motor sports. If you would like to find out more about Thundercat racing please call Fiona Pascoe on 02380 240388 or Fiona@thundercatracing.co.uk Read all about it in the next issue due to hit the stands early May and wish all teams luck in the P1 Thundercat race weekend in Italy on May 10th & 11th… don't miss it. 29/04/2008 17:04:27 |
