![]() Portimao- 4th May. It will take something very special to beat the drama and excitment of the 2008 Portugese F1 GP, the 2nd round of the World F1 Series. For almost 50 laps, the veteran New Orlean's pilot Jay Price tried every which way possible to pass the 2007 'rookie of the year' Ahmed Al Hamli until the last few circuit, and in a daring move through thick spray Price swept past to secure a memorable win. Although Sami Selio and Philippe Chiappe crossed the line in 3rd and 4th place, they were penalised a lap for hitting turn buoys resulting in Francesco Cantando and Duarte Benevente being promoted. Guido Cappellini endured a meeting to forget. After claiming 2nd place on the grid, he was bumped to the back after arriving on the water after the parade lap had started. When the yellow flag appeared after two breakdown on lap 1, Cappellini swept past the fleet to 2nd place but was ordered to drop back. 5/6/2008 9:32:16 AM |
