![]() It really seems that UIM rules have a two tier system is circuit racing. Racers in the UIM World F1 Series have to have as mandatory, air bags and crash boxes. In the USA, the equivelent series to F1, i.e. Champboats don't demand airbags or crash boxes, yet the American series is affiliated to the UIM as Champboat drivers take part in UIM World F1. A UIM ruling states drivers must remain in their cockpits with their helmets on if they breakdown and stay there while being towed to the pits. The Rouen 24 hours race, run under the UIM rules don't appear to stick to these rules as this photo clearly illustrates. 5/8/2008 8:06:20 AM |
